New Super Mario Bros. U could be coming to Switch

My god Nintendo have had a good run porting their WiiU content over to the Switch. From Mario Kart 8 to Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze to the fantastic, but short Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. And if a new rumours are true, then the next Wii U game to make the jump to the next generation system looks to be New Super Mario Bros. U.
Or rather New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, since this will contain both the original game and is Luigi U expansion alongside some further surprise content.
Since this game in my eyes felt more of a Super Mario World successor than any other effort, if true, it could be a nice addition to a console, although the shutdown miiverse posts will have to be addressed, alongside any new amiibo compatibility
Given Nintendo’s speed at converting WiiU code to Switch, thanks in part to OS compatibility programme rolled out in recent years starting with the 3DS and WiiU Comic Book reports that multiple sources, who are purportedly “linked with Nintendo,” have implied the game will be updated and re-released for Switch “as early as this year.”
If this is the case, and a short notice direct does drop the bombshell, it could make for an ideal stop gap before the next Mario title (of which I’m desperately hoping rectify the quality of the Paper Mario series).
