Diablo III is Switch inbound – with extras!

Originally spotted by Reddit user Riomegon and then brought to attention of TRVG via Twitter on Wednesday. I’ve waited back for official confirmation before bring forward the news that Switch owners are going to get a complete WITH EXTRAS version of the Blizzard classic ‘Diablo III’

The version of the game Switch users will be getting is Diablo III: Eternal Collection, which includes both Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions, with some nifty Nintendo extras to give added value. So you’ll have a chicken pet, cosmetic armour in the style of Ganondorf, and what I believe is a TriForce picture frame, alongside others.

doing a little digging into the archives highlights that this is the first time that Blizzard has released a game on a Nintendo console in over 15 years. The last being those Rock n Roll Racing and Lost Viking ports for the GameBoy Advance.
It looks like corners are not being cut too, with support for four players to play in local co-op on a single Switch! or you can link up to four separate Switch consoles for local play, and that’s before you can go online for multiplayer action via the Nintendo Switch Online service operating later this year.

Diablo III for the Switch will be out this fall, and pre-orders are open now at most good (and some evil!) retailers.

  1. Pretty excited for this, and it’ll be (count them!) the third time I’ll have bought Diablo 3. It’s worth it that portability, it’s just a shame that 4-player would need me to buy another 2 full joycon sets!
