Unleash the next Backwards Compatibility titles

more games are coming to Xbox One’s Backwards Compatibility list as of now, and with major fan requests out of the way, some of the ‘didn’t play first time around’ titles are slowly making the mix. These are:

  • Aliens vs Predator
  • Sonic Unleashed
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

I’m happy to see Sonic Unleashed on this list. I haven’t played that game in ages, but I do think it has got a bad rap for being just another generic 3D sonic game that didn’t make the cut. Sure the Werehog sections are slow, but the charm of the game compensates that with many other areas of action. My advise, ignore the reviews and just try it out while it’s cheap. It’s a lot better than you’d think and no where near the subpar level we received with Sonic Boom.

Aliens Vs Predator is what it says on the box, a retelling of that classic schoolyard ‘what if’ that came out at the same time as those god awful, but shouldn’t have been films. Mulitplayer if I recall was one of the better reasons to play this version, and right now it could be the best time to jump on-board to experience it.

Kingdoms of Amalur was a really fun action-RPG type game and ended up being the one and only wonder from 38 Studios, before they went belly up.. worth a play, or if you have a passing interest in the minds that developed it, it’s worth tracking down through Google the turbulent history of the developer, founded by a well known celebrity in their field who faced on-going legal battles and financial ruin (Actually that sounds similar the the Vega Plus again…).

  1. I enjoyed the AvP multiplayer. The asymmetrical aspect of it was handled surprisingly well. Kingdom of Amalur though… I had that on PC and tried to like it, but I really couldn’t get into the game.
