The Xbox Game Pass service has become a go-to favorite for gamers and retro gamers alike, in my house particularly it’s insane value! Allowing the likes of Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves and other first party Microsoft titles to be picked up and played on day of release, alongside over a hundred of backwards compatible and current titles.
On Today’s FY19 Q1 earnings call with the company today, CEO Satya Nadella confirmed that the program will soon be expanding to PC as well, allowing gamers on the Windows platform to enjoy everything it has to offer.
As Microsoft have started a number of titles with cross platform play, allowing you to save and continue your game between PC and Xbox, it feels like a sensible move and one that will up it’s subscriber count benefiting both platforms. Obviously the PC side currently looks a little sparse in terms of titles due to GoG and Steam taking a sizable share of the market in recent years, but I suspect Microsoft will be courting developers over bringing titles across to resolve this or give us further details when the time is right.
Expect the answers to this and pricing to be released in time for the #X018 event, set to take place on November 10 and 11 in Mexico City. It’s here that the company will make all its key announcements moving forward into 2019 and all eyes will be watching.
